Hand postition on the steering wheel

When I learnt to drive I was taught to have my hands at 10 and 2 [o’clock] on the steering wheel.

Due to having the airbags in the center of the steering wheel, this has changed to 9 and 3 [o’clock]. You must also shuffle your hands[its also called push pull] on the steering wheel. So basically split the wheel in half and keep one hand on each side of the wheel.

The airbag goes off at 1/10th a of a second so you obviously don’t want to have a hand in the way of it when it goes off……
