Should I go or not at an intersection

It can be a scary time for the [supervising driver and] learner driver when they come to an intersection that hasn’t got traffic lights. Do you have time to go before the next vehicle comes along ?

The way I like to think of it is, if i can walk across the road I can go across in my car. Let me explain… If you were to WALK from the white line that makes up the bike lane and go to the middle of the road where the broken or solid line is. It will take you roughly 5 seconds, so it will take you around 10 seconds to walk across both lanes. It canĀ  obviously be a few seconds quicker in a car but this is a” good yard stick” to use.

So, If I can walk across the road I can go.
